A Middle Village Tattoo Shop for Thoughtful, Personal Work

Middle Village Tattoo is a neighborhood-focused tattoo shop serving people from Middle Village and across Queens. We work on everything from small fineline pieces and walk-in tattoos to detailed black and grey work, portraits, cover ups, and larger custom ideas. Our approach is simple: listen closely, explain the process clearly, and create work that makes sense for the person who will wear it.

Whether you already have a finished concept or only a rough idea, you do not need to know every technical detail before getting in touch. We can talk through placement, scale, reference images, style, and what will translate well to skin.

Built in Queens, With Respect for the Craft

Middle Village Tattoo was founded by Marco DeLuca, a Queens tattooer who spent years working around New York before deciding to build something closer to home. Marco grew up moving between family in Middle Village and Glendale, and he always liked the direct, neighborhood feel of this part of Queens. After years of commuting across the city for appointments, he wanted to create a shop where clients could get serious custom work without feeling like they had to travel into Manhattan or walk into a space that felt intimidating.

Marco's view of tattooing is that the design matters, but the experience matters too. A good appointment starts before the needle ever touches skin. Clients should understand the plan, feel comfortable asking questions, and know why an artist is recommending a particular size, placement, or approach. That same philosophy shapes the whole team. Nina Patel brings a precise eye to fineline and smaller-scale work, while Luis Hernandez focuses heavily on black and grey, portraits, and pieces that need careful tonal structure.

The shop takes inspiration from Queens itself: mixed styles, different generations, long-time residents, newcomers, and people who know exactly what they want sitting next to people getting tattooed for the first time. We do not believe every client needs the same process. Some tattoos come together during a quick walk-in conversation. Others need reference gathering, drawing time, and multiple sessions. The goal is always the same: make the work feel considered rather than rushed.

Our Services

Our work covers several tattoo styles and appointment types. Black and grey tattoos are a major part of what we do, from compact illustrative pieces to larger shaded compositions. Fineline tattoos are planned around clean scale and readable detail. Cover ups are approached case by case because the existing tattoo, skin, placement, and new concept all affect what is possible. Portrait tattoos require strong references and enough room to preserve recognizable features. Walk-in tattoos are available for ideas that can be planned and completed safely within the time available, and piercing appointments are handled with the same emphasis on clear explanations and aftercare. If you are unsure which service fits your idea, tell us what you are considering and we can point you in the right direction.

Where We Serve You

Middle Village is home base, and we regularly work with clients coming from nearby Ridgewood, Rego Park, Forest Hills, Glendale, Maspeth, Kew Gardens, and Woodhaven. These neighborhoods are close enough that many clients would rather build an ongoing relationship with one Queens shop than start over with a different artist for every tattoo. That becomes especially useful for people planning multiple pieces, a larger collection, or work that needs to be completed over several sessions.

Being local also makes the practical side easier. You can have a consultation without turning it into an all-day trip, return for additional sessions when a project requires them, and ask follow-up questions from a team that remembers the original plan. We want the shop to feel like part of the surrounding Queens community rather than a destination built only for one-time appointments.

Why Choose Middle Village Tattoo?

Clear planning before tattooing

We talk through the idea, placement, size, style, and reference material before moving forward. That helps avoid preventable surprises once the design reaches skin.

Different strengths on one team

Our artists bring different interests and approaches to the shop, including fineline work, black and grey, portrait-focused tattooing, and cover-up planning.

Straightforward recommendations

If an idea needs to be larger, simplified, repositioned, or approached differently to work well as a tattoo, we explain why instead of simply saying yes.

Comfortable for first-timers

You can ask basic questions without feeling out of place. We explain preparation, what to expect during the appointment, and the general aftercare process in plain language.

Queens neighborhood focus

The shop was built for clients who want strong tattoo work close to home in Middle Village and surrounding Queens neighborhoods.

What People Ask Us

How much does a tattoo usually cost in Queens?

Tattoo pricing depends on size, placement, detail, style, and the time required. Small pieces may be relatively straightforward, while portraits, cover ups, and larger black and grey work can require longer or multiple sessions. We give a clearer estimate after seeing the idea and understanding the scope.

Do you take walk-in tattoo appointments?

We welcome walk-in requests when time and artist availability allow. Simple ideas that can be planned and completed in one visit are usually the best fit. Larger custom pieces, portraits, and cover ups generally benefit from advance planning.

Can you help if I do not have a finished tattoo design?

Yes. A reference image, rough sketch, description, or general direction is enough to begin a conversation. We can help narrow the style, scale, placement, and level of detail before the tattoo is finalized.

How should I prepare before getting tattooed?

Arrive rested, eat beforehand, stay hydrated, and wear clothing that gives easy access to the tattoo area. Avoid showing up with irritated or damaged skin where you want to be tattooed. If you are unsure about anything before your appointment, ask.

Do you work with first-time tattoo clients?

Absolutely. First tattoos often come with more questions about pain, placement, size, and healing, and we are happy to walk through those details. The goal is to help you make a decision you feel comfortable carrying forward.
