Marco founded Middle Village Tattoo after years spent learning and working in the New York tattoo trade. A Queens native, he started drawing portraits, lettering, religious imagery, and neighborhood architecture as a teenager and still keeps paper sketchbooks for developing compositions away from a screen. His strongest interests include black and grey work, portraits, and larger custom pieces that require careful planning.
Elena focuses on fineline, botanical, illustrative, and smaller custom tattoos, with particular attention to spacing and how a design follows the body. She grew up between Queens and Brooklyn in a family where drawing and handmade crafts were common weekend activities. Outside the studio, she is usually collecting plant references, visiting New York museums, or sketching architectural details she notices around the city.
Daniel handles piercing appointments while helping keep consultations and the studio schedule organized. Raised in Queens, he has a patient, methodical style and particularly enjoys helping first-time clients understand what to expect before a service. Away from work, he is a longtime home cook who spends an unreasonable amount of time comparing dumpling spots across Queens.
We begin by listening. For tattoos, that means understanding the subject, placement, scale, references, and the parts of the concept that matter most to you. Then we look at the idea as something that has to work on skin. If the design needs more room, stronger contrast, less detail, or a different composition, we explain the recommendation rather than quietly changing the concept.
We also believe a studio can take tattooing seriously without making clients feel tested. First-timers and experienced collectors receive the same straightforward treatment. Ask questions, bring imperfect references, and tell us when you are uncertain. A clear conversation usually leads to a better project.
